Registration Requirements for Sports Federations

  1. Application letter addressed to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
  2. Proposed name of the Federation and the sport/discipline it represents.
  3. Constitution/Statutes of the Federation, covering:
    • Objectives and functions
    • Membership and eligibility
    • General Assembly
    • Board/Executive Committee
    • Election procedures
    • Terms of office
    • Suspension/removal of members
    • Financial management
    • Disciplinary procedures
    • Dispute resolution
    • Amendment of the constitution
    • Dissolution of the Federation
  4. List of founding/member clubs or associations affiliated with the Federation.
  5. Names and identification details of the elected Executive Committee/Board.
  6. Minutes of the founding/general assembly meeting, including the election of the leadership.
  7. Minutes/resolution approving the Constitution.
  8. Annual sports development/activity plan.
  9. Evidence of existing activities in the sport, such as competitions, clubs, athletes, coaches or referees.
  10. Organizational structure of the Federation.
  11. Financial information/budget, including the proposed source and management of funds.
  12. Affiliation information, where applicable, with the relevant international sports federation and/or the Somali National Olympic Committee.
  13. Proof of payment of any applicable registration/licensing fee, if required by the Ministry.
